Nebraska State Patrol Ends Stand Off

Nebraska State Troopers have arrested the subject of an ongoing homicide investigation after a standoff in St. Paul Thursday evening.
The incident began when NSP investigators were informed that the Grand Island Police Department was seeking to arrest Donald Anthony, 34, of Grand Island, as part of an ongoing homicide investigation. As part of that investigation, GIPD obtained a search warrant for a residence at 1019 7th Street in St. Paul, where the subject was believed to be.
NSP SWAT was activated. After initial attempts to communicate, SWAT determined that Anthony was the only individual inside the residence.
After approximately 90 minutes, SWAT troopers made entry into the residence and located Anthony barricaded inside an attic crawlspace. He was taken into custody without further incident. Anthony has been turned over to the Grand Island Police Department as part of their ongoing homicide investigation. The Howard County Sheriff’s Office and St. Paul Police Department also assisted in this operation.
