Nebraska State Dairy Association members recently wrapped up their annual convention in Columbus. Association Executive Director Kris Bousquet says their major goal is centered around market development. He says that’s been catapulted since the closure of Dean Foods Lemars, Iowa plant.

He says their main push now is to attract more dairy processors to Nebraska.

Bousquet says it’s challenging to convince processors to come to the state.

He says however they do have several selling points to convince those companies to relocate or locate in Nebraska. Bousquet says among those is the quality of Nebraska’s food product and easy zoning rules.

Bousquet says they are talking with several different companies about bringing their processing facility to Nebraska.
