Nebraska State Agriculture Director, Greg Ibach has been appointed to a trade advisory committee that provides counsel to the United States Trade Representative. Ibach says his previous experiences for the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture should help him serving on this advisory panel.
Ibach says it’s exciting being appointed to this committee as two major trade deals are under discussion: the Trans Pacific and Trans Atlantic free trade agreements.
Ibach is hoping both of these deals will be science based and will lead to more equal trade between the nations involved.
The purpose of the Intergovernmental Policy Advisory Committee is to provide insight from state and local governments on the activities of the U.S. Trade Representative.
