Nebraska Senators to Debate Property Tax Cut Proposals

Nebraska lawmakers will have several bills to rollback property taxes. Governor Pete Ricketts has a proposal that would change property tax assessments to a productivity model, and move more money to the school aid formula.
District 40 Senator Tyson Larson of O’Neill says he thinks the Governor has a good plan….

Larson says changing assessment models, and adding money to the school aid formula are good steps…..

The Governor has proposed adding about twenty million dollars to the school aid formula. Larson says he support more help for K – 12 schools….

The Governor said he would not support any tax increase to offset a property tax cut.
