The next two weeks in the Nebraska legislature will be mostly about the budget.
Lawmakers have to fill a nine hundred million dollar gap in the two year spending plan. State tax revenues have been running behind projections for the past year.
Senator Tyson Larson of O’Neill says they are still dealing with a spending increase that was passed last year…..

Larson says while some agencies may say they are being cut, they may actually have to work with a flat budget…..

Larson says to have any chance of property tax reform, school aid funding has to stay stable….
Larson expects the legislature to stay in session to the end of the scheduled term in early June.
