Questions are being raised about the release of 400-Million dollars in frozen Iranian assets at the same time that Iran released four American hostages.
Nebraska Senator Deb Fischer says the perception that the United States might have paid ransom for the release of hostages is nearly as harmful as if it proves true

Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse says the Obama Administration needs to more clearly explain why it released the money at the same time that Iran released four American hostages.
Sasse says President Obama has affirmed the long-standing policy of the country to not pay ransom for hostages

Sasse adds news reports indicate that senior Justice Department officials objected to the payment, but were overruled by the State Department.
