Nebraska State Senators have passed a budget bill to the final round that contains $4 million more annually in the property tax credit relief fund. Nebraska Cattlemen’s Legislative Director, Laura Field, says they’re hoping it will receive a final passing vote.
Field says that extra $4 million translates into about $93 per $100,000 in valuation. She says the property tax relief measure is a good step in the process. The Cattlemen are hoping they can build on that next session by getting even more tax relief.
She says the Nebraska Cattlemen will be weighing in with the legislature’s summer study committee as they review state education funding this year.
