Nebraska senators are debating whether voters should be asked to make an adjustment to their term limits.
Well, not exactly their term limits.
Senator Paul Schumacher of Columbus tells colleagues his constitutional amendment would have no effect on any of them, only future lawmakers who would see the limit of two, four-year terms expanded to two, six-year terms.
While some senators say a change would add experience invaluable to their job, Senator Mike Groene of North Platte opposes any change.
Debate on the issue has been sidetracked. Legislators might pick it up again today.
