A few complaints were aired, but the Nebraska Unicameral easily approved changes to the 8-point-6(B)Billion dollar state budget.
Senator Bill Kintner of Papillion, a member of the Appropriations Committee, tells colleagues why he was the lone committee vote against the proposals. . .

Lawmakers gave preliminary approval to using 27-Million dollars from cash reserves to add prison beds in Lincoln.
But, some lawmakers cautioned against thinking the problems within the Department of Correctional Services are solved.
Judiciary Committee Chairman Les Seiler of Hastings warned colleagues they have much work ahead to address the problems. . .

Seiler says too many employees get their training with the state, then move on to other, less stressful Corrections jobs.
