Reforming property taxes was one of the main issues in the Nebraska Governor’s race this fall, with republican winner Pete Ricketts promising to make cuts in valuations and assessments.
District 40 Senator Tyson Larson of O’Neill says it won’t be an easy fix.

Larson says the education funding bill has probably been in the wrong legislative committee.

Larson says property taxes have risen because school districts and counties are spending more.

Larson says they will follow Ricketts lead on legislation concerning changes to property taxes.
