Nebraska ethanol producers aren’t pleased with a proposal released by the Environmental Protection Agency to reduce the biofuel requirement in the nation’s gas supply.
The EPA proposes biofuels, such as ethanol-blends, total more than 17 billion gallons, below the 22 billion gallon mandate set by Congress.
Senator Deb Fischer sees it as a blow to Nebraska farmers.
And Fischer says she’s frustrated by efforts to speak with EPA officials about that issue as well as others.
Fischer says both Republican and Democratic senators have raised concerns to the EPA administrator, but haven’t seen their concerns addressed.
