Nebraska Senator Deb Fischer says repealing the Affordable Care Act will be one of the first things Congress does next year.
But the Republican says the law will not end immediately.

Fischer says the transition period could be two to three years, but no timeline has been finalized.
She also says there is support for continuing coverage of pre-existing conditions.https://soundcloud.com/wnax-radio/fischer-1202a
Fischer hopes the transition period allows Republicans and Democrats to work together on a replacement.

Fischer says there will not be a massive replacement bill.
Instead, she says there will be a step-by-step, thoughtful process to create an affordable alternative.
