Nebraska Sees Tornado in Unusual Time of Year

Tornadoes do touch down in Nebraska during November, but they are an infrequent visitor.

They seem especially scarce on Thanksgiving weekend. But not this year.

Meteorologist Mike Moritz in the Weather Service Hastings office says it has been confirmed that three tornadoes touched down in south-central Nebraska the Sunday after Thanksgiving, a rarity. . .

Moritz says Nebraska is not immune from such severe weather, no matter the calendar date. . .

Colder weather is forecast next week, which should end any chances of another severe outbreak.
