A study finds Nebraska saw a slight increase in technology industry employment last year. Steven Ostrowski, spokesman for the Computing Technology Industry Association, says Nebraska’s tech industry workforce rose by 825 jobs or about two-and-a-half percent during 2016, though the state’s still below the middle of the pack.
Ostrowski says tech workers in Nebraska don’t make as much money as counterparts in other states, but they make a lot more than most other Nebraskans.
The tech industry employs about three-and-a-half percent of the overall Nebraska workforce. Leading tech occupations in the state include: application software developers, computer user support specialists and computer systems analysts.
