The final number of Nebraskans with health insurance through the Affordable Care Act this year is 88,213.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services announced final state totals this week.

Molly McCleery with Nebraska Appleseed says that’s more people who enrolled than any previous year.

Nearly 24,000 people who signed up for coverage on healthcare.gov are new consumers.

McCleery says health care access continues to be an important issue.
