Traffic fatalities are down in Nebraska.

Thirty fewer fatalities were recorded this year heading into the Memorial Day holiday weekend than a year ago.

Nebraska Highway Safety Administrator Fred Zwonechek says it appears more and more motorists are buckling up

Zwonechek says he’s pleased with the trend, except for one disturbing statistic. More pedestrians have been killed on Nebraska roadways the last two years than in the past

Zwonechek says good weather probably played a factor in the totals too.
