After the state was denied individual aid from FEMA, Nebraska Governor, Dave Heineman, has requested disaster assistance from the Small Business Administration. Assistant Director of the Emergency Management Agency, Bryan Tuma, says the SBA assistance would help home and business owners.
Five counties that were impacted by the storms and tornadoes between June 14 and 21 are the focus of the request.
Those counties include Cedar, Cuming, Dixon, Stanton and Wayne. Public assistance was granted to twelve counties within the previous disaster declarations requested by the governor.
