The search has begun for the 26th inductee to the Nebraska Hall of Fame.

State Historical Society director Michael Smith says the Hall of Fame Commission can offer advice to those making nominations.

Smith says most of the people suggested are not household names.

Applications are accepted through December and public hearings are held next spring to gather input on the nominees.

Smith says an induction will happen in 2019 to allow time to raise the 20-to-30-thousand dollars needed for a bust, plaque, and pedestal.
