The Nebraska Department of Education has posted report cards for school districts based on standardized tests.

The Hartington-Newcastle District got a “needs improvement” overall rating.

Superintendent A.J. Johnson says that came from a mistake in information used for the rating…

A number of students from Cedar-Catholic high school took classes at the public school, but were not counted as graduating in 2018 which knocked the graduation rate down to fifty nine percent.

Johnson says despite those issues, the information they get from the testing is useful…

Johnson says the state Department of Education would not amend their online results when they were made aware of the mistake in counting non graduating students.
