The recent Nebraska Rural Poll on immigration and undocumented workers came in with mixed opinions. Survey Manager in the UNL Ag Economics Department Becky Vogt says they did question respondents about expanding the guest worker program for immigrants and got divided opinions on that as well.

She says a majority of those responding to the poll showed support for immigrants being able to apply for a pathway to citizenship.

Vogt says their poll showed strong support for preventing illegal immigration and deporting undocumented workers.

The Nebraska Rural Poll had over 1700 respondents. Vogt says the next two surveys they’ll take this year will look at rural Nebraskans feeling about community and their overall well being and the final survey will ask them their views on higher education.
