The Nebraska legislature has a bill that would deal with the controversial issue of nuisance oders in rural areas.

LB662, called the Nebraska “Right to Farm Act”, would restrict lawsuits pertaining to livestock oders that could create a nuisance to surrounding homes and operations.

University of Nebraska Extension Ag Law Dave Aiken says the bill could make it very difficult to file against a neighbor…….

Aiken says the bill would be a major rewrite of existing laws…..

Aiken says the bill didn’t get wide support from ag groups….

The bill was heard in the Agriculture Committee, and is being held for further debate.
