T.C. Energy of Canada announced this week it’s discontinuing its efforts to go forward with the Keystone XL Oil Pipeline project and ship crude oil to the United States. That’s following the permit blockage from the Biden Administration. Martell Nebraska rancher Randy Thompson has been battling the pipeline for several years and is pleased with the company’s decision although he’s watching any following developments quite closely.

He says his major concern with Keystone XL is centered on its potential impact on the environment and any spills that would contaminate water.

Thompson also wasn’t happy with comments made by Nebraska’s Governor following the decision by TC Energy to discontinue the pipeline

Thompson says the fight over the Keystone XL Oil Pipeline has been a bit of a political football over the last few years but he’s glad to see T.C. Energy shutting it down.
