Nebraska Public Power District Line Technicians Headed to Help with Hurricane Relief

Eighteen Nebraska Public Power District line technicians, two supervisors and a fleet technician along with 14 vehicles and associated equipment are heading to Tampa to help with hurricane recovery efforts.  Corporate Media Supervisor Mark Becker says their goal is to support efforts to restore electrical power.

Becker says a mutual aid request from Florida came in last week in preparation for the storm and they were happy to answer the call.

Becker says the employees who volunteered for duty are from South Sioux City, Ogallala, Bassett, Homer, McCook, Norfolk, O’Neill, Scottsbluff, Plattsmouth, Rushville, Tekamah and Lincoln.  He says they are prepared to support in the restoration efforts for the next two weeks and will prepare for any additional support beyond that time if needed.
