Finding a way to cut property taxes is a major issue in Nebraska, and the legislature has been unable to find any agreements in the past couple of sessions. Tied into that are disagreements over the level of state aid to education.
Senator Tom Briese of Albion says there is a group of Senators looking at that piece….

Briese says he would support any action that leads to cutting property taxes…

Briese, who sponsored a bill to raise sales taxes to offset property taxes in this year’s session says he will try again next year..

Briese says rising property taxes are a major threat to ag producers across the state.
