Nebraska Pork Producers Association members and leaders will push policy priorities such as trade and property tax relief in 2020. Executive Director Al Juhnke says they want to increase their export markets for Nebraska pork and will be involved in several trade deal discussions.

He says they’re also looking forward to China dropping tariffs on U.S. pork and are closely watching the details of the phase one deal.

Juhnke says at the state level, they’ll be working with state senators and Governor Ricketts on property tax relief.

Juhnke says they’re also working to improve the state’s workforce and teaming up with the Nebraska Agriculture Department on foreign animal disease response and preparedness.
