There appears to be a glimmer of hope for trade with China with their Vice Premier due in the U.S. October 7 for another round of trade discussions. Also, Chinese buyers are looking at possibly buying U.S. pork. Some estimates peg that at 100,000 tons. Nebraska Pork Producers Association President Tim Chancellor says that’s encouraging.
He says America’s pork producers are able to supply China with their pork needs.
Chancellor says while recent developments with China look positive, Nebraska’s recent trade trip to Vietnam indicates they’re also interested in U.S. pork.
Chancellor who was recently in Japan says he’s pleased with the signing of the bilateral trade deal with that Asian country.
