Nebraska Pork Executive Encouraged NAFTA Completion Getting Closer

A White House Economic Advisor says negotiators are very close to a possible agreement with Mexico on a North American Free Trade Agreement. Nebraska Pork Producers Association Executive Director Al Juhnke says that’s great news for America’s pork producers.

He says getting a modernization of that deal completed is a major goal of U.S. pork producers.

Juhnke says completing the deal is just the first step with the second bringing Canada on board and then getting the U.S. Congress to sign off on the pact.

Mexican officials remain cautiously optimistic NAFTA may be finalized possibly by the end of August.
