If you’d like to visit a different country, you’ll need to pay for a passport, but the Nebraska Tourism Commission wants you to get a different kind of passport — and it’s free. The Nebraska Passport Program is in its 8th year. Each fall, businesses statewide apply to be one of the 80 stops for the following summer’s program. Tourism spokeswoman Jenn Gjerde (JUR-dee) says there are ten tours with eight stops each, including one with the theme: “Thrills and Chills.”
Gjerde (JUR-dee) says the campaign has grown exponentially each year.
The campaign runs each year from May 1st to September 30th, and so far, Gjerde says six people have received all 80 stamps. Passports are available on-line at NebraskaPassport.com or you can pick one up at any of the stops.
