It is going to be a wonderful long weekend ahead filled with family, friends, gifts and gatherings. However, you don’t want to end up on January 2nd looking more like Santa after a period of indulgence. Nebraska Medicine Nutritionist Rebecca Kraay (Cray) says there are ways to keep the pounds from piling up and enjoy some of your favorite treats. She says never attend a holiday party or buffet hungry.

Kraay says when you go to a party carefully pick and choose what foods to eat – and it doesn’t have to be just vegetables.

Kraay says pick and choose your buffet selections carefully. Try to take things that are only available during the holiday and foods that you might enjoy the most.
