The Natural Resources Conservation Service in Nebraska is encouraging farmers to improve their soil health with their No Till November Campaign. Nebraska State Conservation Agronomist Corey Brubaker says by not tilling and keeping stubble on harvested crop fields, that will enhance soil health going forward.

He says if farmers choose not to till their corn residue they’ll be able to enhance soil moisture as well as protect wildlife.

Brubaker says no till farming has been gaining in popularity in Nebraska and that along with cover crops improves the overall soil health.

Brubaker says by improving soil health, farmers help increase biological activity, provide erosion control and add nutrient benefits.
