Starting January 1st, Nebraskans will have another specialty license plate to choose from. Governor Pete Ricketts unveiled the new plate today at the Bethlehem House in Omaha.
Ricketts says the design is to inspire hope. It shows a mother and a child walking into a Nebraska sunrise to symbolize that no one is alone. He says Nebraskans always support each other and this is another way to show others that this is a pro-life state.
The Legislature passed LB46, a bill introduced by State Senator Dan Watermeier of Syracuse says it was a battle well worth the fight.
The $5 fee will go toward the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Fund.
