The Natural Resources Conservation Service in Nebraska is highlighting the impact of the state’s watershed projects.
State conservation engineer Allen Gehring says that work done with the natural resources districts covers about seven percent of the state.

Gehring says the projects prevent $80 million in flood damages each year and more can be done.

More than 900 watershed projects have been completed in Nebraska since the 1950s.
