A 300-Million-dollar push will resurrect the long-delayed completion of Nebraska’s expressway system.
The idea for the system was first proposed in 1988. Budget considerations shoved it to the sideline for years.
Governor Pete Ricketts says recent moves by the legislature breathed new life into the project. . .

State Roads Director Kyle Schneweis says the projects will both improve safety and encourage economic development. Schenweis says the department created economic models for the projects. . .

The 300-Million dollars will fund eight highway construction projects. Twelve others will be designed. Two others will be planned.
The entire expressway system is slated for completion by 2033.
