Nebraska Looking at a New Voting System

Nebraska Looking at a New Voting System

Whether Nebraska retains its current voting system or not should be up to a 16-member task force, according to Secretary of State John Gale.
He’s backing legislation that would allow such a panel to study the issue next year and make recommendations to the legislature.

Gale says the current system is nearing the end of its 15-year life cycle.
He says now is the time to gather stakeholders together to plan for the future.

He says voting equipment currently used in Nebraska will likely only be good for several more years.
