Nebraska Legislature Stalls over Flood Aid Bill

Senator Ernie Chambers of Omaha is holding up a bill aimed at helping flood victims.

LB 512, which would reduce property tax payments for owners whose property was destroyed by a natural disaster, didn’t get to a vote.

Chambers said Friday was a day of reckoning for how senators acted earlier in the session, and that farmers should blame themselves for having their property washed away….
