Nebraska legislators have advanced a bill that will set out policy for the use of body-worn cameras by police.
Senator Heath Mello of Omaha says the bill would require departments which use the cameras to retain footage for at least 90 days. . .
Senator Tanya Cook of Omaha cautions colleagues of assuming the bill will end accusations of police brutality. . .
The bill directs the Nebraska Commission on Law Enforcement to write a model policy for police departments to use.
