Nebraska Legislature Moves Bill On Hemp

Nebraska State Senators voted 32 to 1 this week to advance LB 1001, a bill to allow for the sale and production of hemp.  Senator Tyson Larson of O’’Neill is a supporter of the measure and says there is no problem with hemp as it’s THC level is one % or less. THC is the same ingredient found in marijuana.

Larson says there are a number of products that come from hemp that would create many niche market opportunities for the state’s farmers.

Larson says he’s heard no concern from law enforcement or anyone else about hemp’s relation to marijuana.
