The Nebraska Unicameral’s Agriculture Committee held a hearing Friday looking at constraints to agricultural processing, production and marketing. Nebraska Farm Bureau’s Director of State Government Relations Ansley Mick says they talked to the ag panel, which was sitting as an interim study committee, about the importance of loosening restrictions on agriculture to allow it to grow.
Doniphan area farmer Mark Haskins testified on behalf of the Nebraska Farm Bureau.
Mick says they also encouraged the committee to get more counties to use the Nebraska Livestock Siting Assessment Matrix.
Mick expects the Ag Committee and the full legislature to further discuss rural broadband and its deployment at the next regular session of the Unicameral.
