Nebraska Legislature Hung up on Child Care Bill

Nebraska legislators are stuck on a bill that would freeze the rates the state pays to subsidize child care for low-income workers.

Senator Kate Bolz of Lincoln argues on the legislative floor, the 7-point-4 Million dollars in savings is needed now, due to the drastic drop in state revenue. . .

Senator Adam Morfeld of Lincoln argues the Unicameral is trying to have it both ways…cutting the budget as well as cutting taxes. . .

Child care rates would have to be adjusted the next fiscal year.

The debate continues.
