Nebraska Legislature Avoiding Difficult Debates

Nebraska Legislature Avoiding Difficult Debates

A state senator claims the Nebraska legislature has moved too quickly on the bills it should consider thoroughly…and spent too much time on lesser matters.
Senator Mike Groene of North Platte complains that the legislature spent less than two hours on changes to the 8-point-6(B)Billion dollar budget. . .

After Groene complained about the lack of debate on the budget, compared to six hours of debate on mountain lion hunting, Senator Ernie Chambers of Omaha took to the floor…to extend debate. . .

Only 10 working days remain in the legislative session with a few more scheduled to consider any vetoes by Governor Pete Ricketts.
