Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts is backing a package of proposals to provide property tax relief by limiting the growth of local government spending.
Ricketts says two bills will be introduced this legislative session to tighten spending limits on local governments…remove exceptions to raising local levies…control growth within the school funding formula…and limit the assessed valuation growth of agricultural land to three percent annually. . .
State Senator Mike Gloor of Grand Island will push for the proposals on the floor…
The proposals will be heard by the Revenue and Education Committees.
