A Nebraska state senator who failed to get Governor Pete Ricketts’ tax package through the legislature last year says he’s ready to try again this year.
Senator Jim Smith of Papillion fell six votes short of the total needed to break a filibuster and go to a vote on the bill. Smith attempted to reach a compromise during the filibuster of his bill. . .
Smith says any package must combine cuts to the individual and corporate tax as well as to property taxes. . .
There are numerous tax cut bills being introduced in this years session.
