Senator Laura Ebke of Crete will introduce a proposal in the 2017 Unicameral for Nebraska to join eight other states in calling for an Article Five Convention of States. Joe Stephans, state director for the Nebraska Convention of States Project, says the meeting is called by the state legislatures for the purpose of two ways to propose amendments to the U-S Constitution.

Stephans says they have some specific changes in mind.

He says if a convention is held, any proposed constitutional amendments must then be ratified by legislatures or state-level conventions in three-fourths of the states.
