The new chairman of the Midwestern Higher Education Compact says Nebraska can benefit from the shared ideas the compact offers…as well as some cost-sharing among the dozen states of the compact.
One thing Missouri State Senator David Pearce says the compact cannot really help on is what the state budgets for higher education. . .
Pearce praised the Nebraska educational system. . .
Then, Pearce says, the state needs to make sure its colleges are training students for the jobs that are out there.
He says businesses representatives tell him the jobs are there, but they need workers trained for those jobs.
