State lawmakers have decided against taking 100-Thousand dollars from the Nebraska Brand Committee to help shore up a revenue shortfall in the state budget.

Legislators passed an amendment to restore the money to the brand committee.

Senator Dan Hughes of Venango argues the move recommended by the Appropriations Committee wouldn’t help the state that much, but would devastate the brand committee.

Senator Tom Briese of Albion says the recommendation from the Appropriations Committee didn’t make sense. . .

State legislators continue to debate the main bill, which would authorize the sweeping of cash funds from a number of state agencies to help close the revenue gap for the upcoming state budget.
