Nebraska Lawmakers Begin Debate on State Budget

Nebraska lawmakers have begun debating the nearly 9(B)Billion dollar state budget.
Appropriations Committee chair John Stinner says education was a high priority as his committee worked on the two-year spending plan. . .


Stinner says safety is also a priority of the recommended spending plan. . .


State lawmakers have been working all session to close a revenue shortfall projected to be near one billion dollars.
Even with the shortfall, the proposed budget would increase state spending by about one percent.
