Nebraska landowners affected by the Keystone XL pipeline are vowing to continue their fight against the project. That despite last week’s State Supreme Court ruling that the alternative route is valid. Martell area rancher Randy Thompson, long time opponent of the project, says they’re not giving up challenging the pipeline.
He’s also not convinced TransCanada will follow through with the project despite getting the favorable state court ruling.
Thompson says landowners will keep fighting for their private property rights. But as far as a state legislative solution to strengthening those right, that remains an uphill battle.
Thompson says while President Trump allowed a permit for TransCanada, its being challenged at the national level.
