Nebraska Insurance Exchange Down to One Company

Nebraska Insurance Exchange Down to One Company

The number of health insurance companies included in the Affordable Care Act exchange is down to one in Nebraska. Aetna is withdrawing, leaving one provider, Medica. Right now Medica is reevaluating all of their plans in every state. Bruce Ramge is the director with the Nebraska State Department of Insurance and says they have been in contact with Medica.

Ramge says if they pull out there are few options for people who relied on the Affordable Care Act for coverage.

Ramge says if there are not companies in the exchange they will work with the federal government so people would not be fined for not having health insurance.
