Nebraska is now in the widespread category regarding the number of flu cases statewide. Dr. Brynn Lastovica is a family medicine physician with a Nebraska Medicine clinic in Omaha and says many of their appointments and walk-in patients right now are being seen for the flu. She says they are concentrating on prevention on spread.
Lastovica says if you have a fever, body aches, sore throat, headache or any other flu symptoms make sure to call your doctor right away for treatment.
Lastovica says it is also very important to stay home. As long as you have a fever you are contagious and that can last for up to ten days.
