Hunters are helping some farmers and ranchers in the state make extra money.

This year’s Nebraska Farm Real Estate Report shows about five percent of the lease deals with hunters were worth more than five-thousand dollars.

Nebraska Extension educator Jim Jansen says access to the entire property drove up prices.

If you lease your land to hunters, Jansen recommends a formal contract.

Deer and antelope hunters leased the most land in the state last year, followed by those going after pheasant, quail, and waterfowl.
